Volunteer Engagement Team member
The Volunteer Engagement Team onboard volunteers and works with chapter/group leadership to place volunteers on Chapter and Group teams.
The Volunteer Engagement Committee’s purpose is to develop and implement programs for volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and placement on teams that support various chapter activities, programs and office functions. This process includes seamless onboarding of new volunteers, tracking their engagement, and celebrating their accomplishments.
Supporting this team includes the following activities:
- Use the established onboarding process to timely onboard everyone that seeks to volunteer with the Chapter.
- Review onboarding actions taken by prior year’s volunteers to ensure that all have completed the work they agreed to do, including, but not limited to, signing the Community Agreement and completing their onboarding checklist.
- Actively recruit volunteers: Post volunteer recruitment positions to Volunteer Connection, and submit one volunteer spotlight or opportunity article in the Chapter Enews in at least 6 of 12 publications annually.
- Celebrate and thank volunteers.
- Update the Volunteer Master List.
- Update volunteer onboarding resources, as needed.
Meeting with and helping new volunteers is the perfect way to get to know so many of our members and leaders. Join the team! Please contact Lisa Tilzey at ltilzey@charter.net.
