Colorado - Public Lands Team
Join our team of outdoor enthusiasts enjoying, exploring, and protecting public lands, water, and wildlife!
Are you into public displays of afforestation? Come be a part of a community of outdoor enthusiasts all across Colorado who enjoy, explore, and protect the planet together!
As a member of our Public Lands Team, you will join a team of people who work together to conserve Colorado lands that have special ecological and cultural significance. This team will host/participate in activities including outdoor service projects and nature outings as a means to forge stronger connections with nature, to build environmentalists’ sense of community, to provide platforms for education, and to connect the general public with advocacy opportunities.
Nearly a third of Colorado’s lands have been altered by human development- the highest percentage among Western states. Furthermore, only 13% of our lands are protected from new development. It’s important that we preserve access to our outstanding public lands and the biological resources they support.
This team will meet once a month to plan, promote, and receive support on activist events and advocacy opportunities (both in-person and virtual).
If interested in joining our team, please reach out to Alexis Schwartz, Senior Field Organizer, at alexis.schwartz@sierraclub.org or 850-766-6320.
