Coastal Bend Group Data Coordinator

The Group Data Coordinator will be the main point of contact for all issues related to database management and movement data tools.

The Sierra Club is in the process of strengthening its use of data and digital advocacy across the organization. This includes upgrading our main constituent database (HELEN) to a Salesforce-backed platform called CORE. This also includes the roll out of several additional platforms focused on digital advocacy, but also membership-focused record keeping and communications.

The Coastal Bend Group is currently searching for a tech savvy volunteer who will be responsible for understanding what these new tools offer to the Group, how the Group may (or may not) benefit from using them and keeping the Group up to date on news and updates on these digital tools, as received from the Chapter. The Group Data Coordinator will also assist the Chapter in determining who and what kind of digital tools training and support the Group needs from the Chapter or national support team.

This excellent resume building role will have primary responsibilities that include:

  • Learning and understanding our digital tools (CORE III, AddUp, Campfire, VAN, Marketing Cloud), including participation in relevant training workshops and/or webinars when applicable
  • Work with Group leaders to find out what digital tools the Group needs
  • Make informed judgments about who within the Group should be trained in what platform
  • Stay in touch with Chapter support staff to ensure data management and communication standards are followed
  • Share all digital tools updates and news from the Chapter and National support team with the Group as needed.
