Houston Group Volunteer Coordinator


Join us as our new Volunteer Coordinator and help grow your local Houston Group of Sierra Club to create positive change in our great state!


The Houston Regional Group of the Sierra Club (Sierra Club) seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to implement volunteer identification and recruitment opportunities. The Volunteer Coordinator will interact with the Houston Sierra Club Executive Committee and Sierra Club leaders in this volunteer position.

The Volunteer Coordinator will help match Houston Sierra Club members with conservation, outings, administration, membership, political, lobbying, events, and other volunteer opportunities.

The duties of the Volunteer Coordinator include: promote and publicize volunteer opportunities; collect pictures and write articles about volunteers in action; interact with Sierra Club leaders to determine their volunteer needs; determine and address volunteers’ needs; promote volunteer recognition and appreciation; keep, organize, and retain volunteer information; train others for volunteer coordinator activities; and focus on entry-level volunteer tasks/jobs to facilitate new volunteers.
