The Range of Light Group of the Toiyabe Chapter is managed by a dynamic team of activists who work to make a difference in their communities by advocating for Sierra Club values and priorities. They engage both their members and a wide array of local stakeholders in their work to safeguard the region's diverse landscapes and outdoor opportunities. Membership, participation, and the opportunity to lead Range of Light Group activities are open to all interested in enjoying, protecting, and exploring the Eastern Sierra. The Executive Committee members of the Range of Light group are selected by popular vote of Sierra Club members living in Mono and Inyo Counties. The Eastern Sierra is the homeland of the Nuumu and Newe People and has been since time immemorial. It is a beautiful area rich in natural, scenic, cultural, and recreational values and benefits.

As leaders and decision makers of the Range of Light Group, it is important for Executive Committee members to contribute to the Group's cohesiveness and financial stability. For the Group to thrive, it needs an Executive Committee whose members are actively working to ensure the health and success of the Group. A healthy Group is essential to support its efforts to protect, preserve, and enjoy our environment.

Expectations: Understand and support the concept of "One Club,"" meaning that we work together, speak with one voice, and respect and support our different roles and responsibilities Be able to succinctly communicate to others about what the Group does and why it is important Attend (or call into) Executive Committee meetings 6-7 times per year Work to recruit new members, retain members, and improve the diversity of Group membership Determine your role within the Group and do your best to fulfill that role Prepare for and attend the Executive Committee meetings; consider the interests of the entire Group when voting Support and contribute to efforts to improve the financial health of the Group Report back to their Group Executive Committee about your discussions and actions
