Elections Coordinator
Volunteers would help administer the internal elections for Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter as a part of the election board.
This position is crucial in making sure Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter runs smoothly according to the bylaws. This position ensures the integrity and effectiveness of the democratic process. By managing this process the volunteer helps maintain the Chapter’s grassroots, member driven structure.
Note: The position will mostly run from June to December
Responsibilities – Works out master calendar and communicates with ExComm, nominating committees, and chapter staff to keep nominations and elections on schedule. – Prepares copy for member communications in conjunction with staff. – Assembles and edits candidate statements and photos, then prepares copy for election web page. – Creates a ballot and ensures that it is live at the right time. If necessary, prepare and mail paper ballot requests. (Someone in Reno must check the PO box for these if mailed.) – Along with all of the Elections Committee, counts votes and prepares official results, then communicates to chapter secretary.
- Attend appropriate ExComm meetings
Qualifications:
- Eligible to become part of election committee
- Basic technical skills: Google Forms, Spreadsheet, Canva, know how to make the copies for website, etc
- Photo editing skills
