The Big Bear Group is managed by a dynamic team of activists who work to make a difference in our community by advocating for Sierra Club values and priorities. These activities may include news media, conservation efforts, outings, political work, membership services, and sound financial management.

Executive Committee members are selected by popular vote of Sierra Club members living in the Big Bear Valley area

As leaders and decision makers of the Big Bear Group, it is important for Executive Committee members to contribute to the Group's cohesiveness and financial stability. For the Group to thrive, it needs an Executive Committee whose members are actively working to ensure the health and success of the Group. A healthy Group is essential to support it's efforts to protect, preserve, and enjoy our environment.

Here's what ExCom members are expected to do, besides having fun and working with like-minded leaders!

• Understand and support the concept of "One Club,"" meaning that we work together, speak with one voice, and respect and support our different roles and responsibilities
• Attend (in person or by zoom) Executive Committee meetings as scheduled (no more than once a month)
• Help recruit new members and hold a welcoming, inclusive vibe to create an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for everyone
• Find your passion - work within the leadership group to do what's best suited to your talents and interest s
• Prepare for and attend the Executive Committee meetings
• Support and contribute to efforts to improve the financial health of the Group
