Conservation Activist


The San Gorgonio Chapter is seeking volunteer activists interested in local environmental issues and creating more livable communities.


We invite you to work with us and make a difference whether you’re interested in issues involving:

  • Preservation of wild places such as our Desert Monuments
  • Air quality
  • Water conservation
  • Climate change
  • Sustainability
  • Renewable energy
  • Transportation

    We are the San Gorgonio Chapter of the Sierra Club, America's oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization. San Gorgonio Chapter serves all of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Positions are available throughout the region.

The Chapter Conservation Committee seeks conservation activists who will work to advance the Sierra Club’s conservation mission through activities including but not limited to:

  • Becoming familiar with Sierra Club policies and positions.
  • Defending wild places such as Sand to Snow and Mojave Trails National Monuments
  • Advocating for environmental justice.
  • Promoting sustainability and more livable communities.
  • Supporting water conservation and water recycling.
  • Pushing for more renewable energy especially rooftop solar.
  • Encouraging less carbon-intensive forms of transportation.
  • Educating the public through speaking opportunities and social media.
  • Engaging with elected officials.

Location: San Gorgonio Chapter

Time: 5-10 hrs/month
